Highlights from our 21st Anniversary Weekend!!
We celebrated the 21st anniversary of Stockyards Championship Rodeo in Historic Cowtown Coliseum this past weekend. Congratulations to Hub Baker, CK Reid, Derwin Doggett and Cindy Markwadrt, who are the folks that have been involved for the entire run
As for this weekend’s action, Granbury’s Wade White won Friday’s tie-down roping with an 11.42, worth $349.88. Jason Urbanek from Stephenville took the win Saturday night with a 10.07, worth $466.24.
Paycee Edgett from Valley View caught her calf in 3.46 to win Friday’s breakaway roping and $407.96. Lizzy Vaughn won $244.78 Saturday night with a 3.84.
Savannah Chaddick from Whitesboro dominated the barrel racing, winning first Friday night with a 14.42 and second Saturday night with a 13.99. Her total take for the weekend was $769.30. Benbrook’s Abby Wolfe is working her way up in the season standings and won Saturday night with a $13.89, worth $512.86.
George Gallindo and Ezzio Jacquez continued their winning ways Friday night, winning the team roping with a 4.84, worth $293.57 per man. Saturday night Cory Smothers and Clay Burham caught their steer in 5.15 seconds to win $611.60 each.
In the rough stock events, Nick Pilgrim from Terrell won $250 in the ranch saddle bronc riding with 72 points. Alex Marcillo from Sao Paulo, Brazil, won the bull riding aboard Cowtown for 84 points Friday, paying $250. Garrett Jones from Devers had the only qualified ride Saturday night with 79 points on Wipeout, taking home $500.
